Re: [Repeater-Builder] Retuning a UHF Motorola Micor without a deviation meter or signal generator ?

The power output is from the a sticker on the front of the transmitter with a hand-written 78 in the watts blank. The repeater is currently in the 455 range and we have been coordinated the 442.225T/447.225T pair. As guessed, I am located in Columbus, Indiana (about 40 miles south of Indy).

Thanks for the help, Josh! I've saved this email to reference when the time comes to do the work.  From what I've seen, there are at least five different documents out on the web concerning the retuning of Micor's into the ham bands, but they all start with assumptions of a well-stocked test

Sorry to hear you got the proverbial shaft. But all's not lost. If you need a duplexer, I'll trade you a Motorola T1504 (pass/reject) duplexer in good shape that I had on my table at Dayton that didn't sell. I was asking $125 for it. I'll trade you straight across if you pick up shipping in

For the proposed use, you just need the PTT connection, and an IDer with a logic output (or just condition the audio out into a keying signal) Matthew Kaufman Steve wrote: Hi should be easy just use one of the cheap CW iders.3 connections ground, ptt and tx af in Steve - Original

I think the old SCOM 5k controllers had beacon mode. If you want mo power you may consider a Syntor X, could probably run it at 150 watts. Do a google search for beacon controller, brings up several. http://www.ncdxf.org/beacon/beaconcontroller.html tom On 5/30/2010 10:19 AM, Steve wrote:

I did one a year or two ago, do not key the PTT as it will have a very nasty output. I did the manual power control mod to control the output power and then broke the B+ line to the second driver in the power amp section, key it with a relay and it will work fairly well. - Original
