I came across this company that lists dipole arrays for 220 MHz on page 38 of
their online catalog. I have no idea what the prices are, but thought I would
pass it along since I haven't seen it mentioned before on this list.

Don't overlook Comprod. Very similar antennas, and I think they're
cheaper. We are on low-band, and they are re-designing the phasing
harnesses and feeders so that we can run high power (aka 2kw) instead of
their normal 300w rating.
I was very impressed with them. When we called Sinclair and as

About 1 year ago price of metals about doubled, some trippled like lead now
they are almost back where they were so it will take some time before the

it ever will.
Then there was the fuel surcharge for trucking the raw mat
As I said, "last I heard" :-)
That being said, I am not knocking Cushcraft - I've used their
antennas in everything from repeater service to EME use and never had
an real complaints (I especially liked their 4 dipole arrays for
repeater service).

Some of Comprod's cavity filter products look a lot like TX-RX, but not all.
They make a line of duplexers and filters that are square cavities, more
like EMR's. TX-RX does make some square cavities; I have some square TX-RX
cavities that are high-power models for 900 MHz paging.
I have a coup

I think for a while Cushcraft was using a different name for some of their
commercial products, and the name was something like "Com Prod" or
"Communication Products" or something similiar (I think I saw it used in a
Tessco catalog), but I'm quite certain that the current Laird/Cushcraft

Don't know if I would put them that low! They are (if I remember right)
a "spin-off" from TX/RX (just look at their duplexers/combiners etc.).

I've had a G7-144 on top of a hospital here for more years than I can figure
and all was good until it went bad a few years ago. Corrosion was the
problem evidenced by severe desense. On transmit, the corrosion was

Again, the controller must operate the repeater, and a UHF link.
I'm currently looking at the NHRC-5, and also their Remote+ external DTMF

will operate as an "ultimate" control for the repeater. Any power cycle will

Thanks for the tip on screwing the sections together. I am not a real fan of
the clamps on an antenna myself. When I out up the HF tri-band, I used the
clamps and not regretting it.

I haven't bought any of their antennas for ham projects yet. I've purchased
one of their VHF dipole arrays for a commercial job, but I wasn't on-site
when it was delivered, unpacked, or installed, so I didn't get to examine
it. Most of what I've heard has been positive. They share a lot of

For fiberglass, RFS still makes the SuperStationmaster for 220 (model #
220-8). Telewave (ANT220F6) and Sinclair (SC229 series) also still make
fiberglass omnis for 220.
Sinclair (SD212, SD214, SD218), Telewave (ANT220 series) and Comprod (87x
series and 88x series) make 220 dipole arrays.

I wonder if we might be going at this the wrong way.
We're spending $500 or $1,000 for a difficult-to-find
commercially made antenna that might be a compromise
for the frequency we're on.
What if we just make our own antenna? Is it that hard
to do?

Just wondering what your thoughts are concerning the COMPROD line of antennas.
I was at one of their seminars and was very impressed with the construction and

Hi again,
I found out that the ham building our repeater is using a GE Master II.
He suggested we use a G7-144. Our antenna will be mounted on top of the tower

is up now.
Does anybody think that the G7 will not ho
