We use 1/4 superflex in all of our cabinets for 800 MHz systems on the

 connectors for the 1/4 superflex.

I am needing to replace the receive connector on a Kenwood TKR-750
repeater. The existing connector is a Female BNC Chasis mount. I am
doing away with the LMR400 interconnects inside the cabinet and
upgrading to 1/2'' Superflex. Since no one makes a BNC connector for
1/2 hardline I would like to swap the RX BNC connector out with an N
connector. I've been searching the web for the last 40 minutes and
can't seem to find a Micro N Female Chasis mount crimp on connector
(I say micro because the current connector is a BNC with a very small
flange on it and a standard flange on an N Connector is too large and I
don't want to get into drilling new holes on the repeater)
I'm not sure if such a connector even exists, but I figured I would
ask the experts and see if anyone could point me in the right
direction. Thanks for the help guys...

[Repeater-Builder] Jumpers From Duplexer To Repeater ???

2005-05-10 Thread kg4ogn
   Hello,
I have a rather basic question for everyone. I am going to be
installing a 4 cavity VHF duplexer (Sinclair Q202G) inline with my
repeater very soon. I know that the interconnecting jumpers from can
to can should be 1/4wave for your frequency. If you can get the cans
to tune up with sufficient isolation with the jumpers not being cut
for your frequency, could they just be left alone? Also, the jumpers
going from the duplexer to the reciever and transmitter, should they
be cut for 1/4 wave as well? If I just put a 3 foot jumper from cans
to repeater what can I expect performance wise? Thanks for the help.

 Alexander

2005-04-24 Thread kg4ogn

   Hello All,
I just tore down a tower for someone and was given an antenna that
was sitting in their garage, did not get any specs on it. The label is
pretty much disintegrating but it says: Antenna Specialists, Made in
Ohio USA, Model Number ASPF 701. If anyone is familiar with this
antenna I would really appreicate it if I could ask you a few
questions. Thanks, 73.

[Repeater-Builder] Looking for UHF Repeater Antenna, VHF Duplexer and Controller

2005-03-16 Thread kg4ogn

  Hello,
I am working on a few projects for a high school radio club and
need a few parts. First off I need a UHF Repeater antenna, looking
for something along the lines of a 4+ element dipole array. Antenna
need not be in the greatest shape as long as it can be worked back
to life. The antenna will need to be able to tune down to 448Mhz
range.
Second Item I need is a VHF Duplexer. Four or Six can. BpBr would
be nice, at least 75DB of isolation. Needs to handle .600 Split and
needs to tune to 147Mhz Range
The last item I need is a repeater controller. Nothing fancy just
a basic controller with CW ID, Hang Timer, Courtesy Tone, and accept
DTMF commands.
As I said these are for a few repeater projects for a high
school radio club so please, the cheaper it is the better it is.
Thanks and 73.

[Repeater-Builder] EF Johnson CR1010 Help

2005-02-08 Thread kg4ogn

  Hello,
I am looking to convert an EF Johnson CR1010 for Amateur use.
Currently the repeater is set up in the UHF commerical range and I am
looking to put it on the 440 Ham range. I called EF Johnson and the
lady I talked with said I would have to change out some Caps but that
it should work. I was wondering if anyone has played with a CR1010
and if I could get some information from that person. If you have
played with a CR1010 I would love to hear from you, thanks.

[Repeater-Builder] VHF Repeater Antenna

2004-08-01 Thread kg4ogn
  Hello,
I am looking to replace my high schools radio club repeater antenna
setup. We are currently using a Ringo Ranger and I would like to
upgrade to a four or six dipole array. I was wondering if anyone
knew where I could pick up a dipole array {would prefer a used set
in good condition} for a cheap price. I would need to get the
elements tuned for 147.675 so I would nees something that is capable
of being retuned for that frequency. If anyone has any ideas {or an
antenna system laying around} please let me know, thanks and 73.
