Re: [Repeater-Builder] Old 220-222Mhz ACSSB system parts usable?
Thats a yahoo group problem, the files change links like every hour. You'd have to login to see it. Havent made too much progress as of lately but I do have the synthesizer programming figured out. Going to be intresting in the receiver, there is no squelch circuitry, just a DSP looking for 1900 Hz data tone. Now that I have a few other projects done I should focus some more effort into it. Going to be intresting in the receiver, there is no squelch circuitry, just a DSP looking for 1900 Hz data tone. If the DSP can be told to ignore the tone test, (or you could tap the audio ahead of it) you could add a mobile Micor audio-squelch card - a really cheap building block. Feed it discriminator audio, +9.6vDC (anything from 9 to 10 works as long as it is clean and regulated), a couple of 10K, 25K or 50K pots, and you are done. Just be careful, the base station and mobile cards are different. The mobile cards are preferred as there are a lot more of them, and a bit easier to use. Now that I have a few other projects done I should focus some more effort into it. [Repeater-Builder] Old 220-222Mhz ACSSB system parts usable?
I have an opportunity to get a combiner/filter panel from a 220-222Mhz ACSSB system that was abandoned years ago. Has anyone experimented with making a 222Mhz duplexer out of the parts in the Celwave rack that was used in this system? 73, Joe, K1ike
Re: [Repeater-Builder] Old 220-222Mhz ACSSB system parts usable?
I made a BpBr style duplexer from an Aerial Facilities Limited combiner. Had 4 Band pass cavities that were about 8 square. Removed one coupling loop and made the other bigger with a johansen trimmer capacitor to set the notch. About the only problem it the coupling loop still rotates so it has to be set for maximum coupling and locked down tight. Seems to do about 85dB of rejection per leg. It's a little big compared to the Sinclair 220 duplexer, but at $20 a cavity I cant complain. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Old 220-222Mhz ACSSB system parts usable?
Joe These should work fine. There is also a single cavity that was used in the receive line, IIRC. I have a complete system that I picked up to haul it off. The transceivers were made by SEA. Their stock answer is that they are not modifiable for any use other than what they were designed for. After a lot of research, I have to agree. Probably the only thing that is useable from the transceivers is parts, possibly a PA. I have not yet tried to retune the cavities, but the move is so small that I see no reason for them not to work. 73 Glenn WB4UIV At 10:42 AM 12/31/2008, you wrote: I have an opportunity to get a combiner/filter panel from a 220-222Mhz ACSSB system that was abandoned years ago.
