Nick, Noirin and I will have the phones and we have enough cars between us to pick people up from Bray station. You'll need to call about 30 minutes before you get to Bray and may have to have a short wait there. Looking forward to seeing you :-) I'll be coming seriously late on Friday. I arrive at DUB at about 22:30 p.m. and plan to take the AirCoach bus from there to Bray after fetching the luggage. So I expect to be at Bray either 00:05 or 00:35 Saturday morning. I hope there's still a chance for a lift that late. I already talked to Mark (Thomas) who was offering it in principle but wanted to coordinate with you tomorrow. If you don't want me to phone all of you in the middle of the night, maybe you could send me an SMS to +49 170 3356832 about whom (which number) to call. I assume to have access to email until about Friday 4 p.m.. Thanks for the excellent organization! Regards, Rainer

Re: Getting to Knockree
Hey there, I walked this yesterday - it is quite pleasant. The bus fare was E1.85. Make sure the bus is for Shop River. The other 185's go to Palermo. The providers with coverage are O2 and vodafone. Apparently O2 is better. My meteor SIM is only getting 2G at the front of the hostel. WiFi is currently only from the regional free broadband - hostel system could be repaired today. Re: Getting to Knockree
My travel plan then looks like this: 5:35pm KLM 3159 Arrives at Dublin Airport 6:00pm 747 Bus leaves Airport 6:45pm 747 Bus arrives Central Bus Station --- Walk to Connolly Station, buy ticket, etc ~10 mins 6:54pm/7:09pm DART leaves for Bray Station 7:39pm/7:54pm DART arrives at Bray Station 8:05pm 185 leaves from Bray Station 8:35pm 185 arrives at "Shop River" stop --- Walk to Hostel ~40 mins 9:15pm Arrive at Knockree Hostel Sunset is supposed to occur at 9:15pm, so this works quite well. Weather should be partly cloudy, with 95% chance of rain between 7pm and 10pm in Enniskerry, so I might need to bust out my rain jacket on the walk to the hostel. I'm from Portland, so this is perfectly acceptable, as it's constantly raining here, and my backpack is *seriously* waterproof. This is according to: http://www.foreca.com/Eire/Ath_na_Sceire?details=20110513 Thanks, Troy On Wed, May 11, 2011 at 4:56 PM, Troy Howard wrote: > I just went through the route and it looks quite pleasant. I just went through the route and it looks quite pleasant. I think I'm with Hyram on this one -- I'll walk. According to Google Maps, it's a 37 minute walk from the last bus stop to the hostel, through nice rural looking country roads. Sunset is ~9pm, so I should have plenty of time before it gets dark. I've prepared a map of the route on Google maps. This includes all the details of navigating from the airport to the hostel, including, links to bus/train route timetables. http://s.apache.org/C5l Thanks, Troy On Wed, May 11, 2011 at 2:24 PM, Hyrum K Wright wrote: > On Wed, May 11, 2011 at 3:06 PM, zoe slattery wrote: >> Hi all >> >> If you are arriving in Bray by train then you should call one of these >> numbers to get a lift from the station. >> >> +353 83 1108 519 >> +353 83 1121 050 >> +353 83 1197 626 >> >> It would also be helpful if you put an approximate time of arrival on the >> lift sharing page http://wiki.apache.org/apachecon/LiftShareRetreat11. >> >> Nick, Noirin and I will have the phones and we have enough cars between us >> to pick people up from Bray station.
