We performed a long study on backup solutions which included
Retrospect and Veritas. The two top performers were Retrospect and

can say I would stay away.
Place that I worked at tried to use netbackup as a solution for their Windows and Mac
clients. Bottom line was that they never got the Mac client to work reliably and they

We use it in a mixed enviroment of about 500 and 500. Other than the
problem that it won't do online database backups (I.E. Exchange server) it
works very well.
