Review Board 1.0.2 released

2009-09-16 Thread Christian Hammond
Hi everyone,

We just put out the 1.0.2 release, which contains many bug fixes that users
have hit, and improved error logging to help diagnose problems. We strongly
encourage everyone to upgrade, and if you hit any new page crashes, we'll
probably ask you to upgrade and send us your log file.

There's a brief news post at
http://review-board.org/news/2009/09/16/review-board-102-released/

Full release notes are up at
http://www.review-board.org/docs/releasenotes/dev/reviewboard/1.0.2/

As always, we're looking to fill out our page of Happy Users (
http://review-board.org/users/), so if you use Review Board and can give us
permission to list you, please let us know!

Thanks,

Christian

Question: How to change tab size in diff viewer?

2009-09-16 Thread surk

We're using Review Board 1.0.1, and Firefox 3.5.3.

When looking at the diffs using View Diff, all 'tab' chars in the
diff-file are displayed with size 8. In the code we're using tab size
4. This makes the code looked misaligned sometimes.

Is it possible to change the tab size, of the tab-chars it shows, of
the 'diff viewer'?

Thanx in advance!

Best regards,

Chris van Surksum

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create new Review Request
2. Attempt to upload screenshot in JPEG format.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A successful upload of the screen-shot should occur. Instead I get an error

Re: Review Board 1.0.2 released

2009-09-16 Thread Christian Hammond
Hi,

How did you migrate back to 1.0.x?

The problem is that you were installing from the 1.1 development branch and
so Python sees that the 1.1 version is newer than the 1.0.x.

If you're actually running the 1.0.x branch now without problems, then you
can go into your Python's site-packages directory and delete the
ReviewBoard-1.1.* directories. However, I don't know how you migrated back
to 1.0.x, so you *may* run into some issues, as the database schema has
changed a little.

Thank you, thank you so much.

 I removed:
 /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Django-1.0.2_final-py2.5.egg

Then when I ran easy_setup again it downloaded Django 1.1 instead and
 everything works fine.

I did a quick ls on /usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/

I don't know that you really want to use the -m option. I think really you'd
be better off simply removing the 1.0.2 version from your filesystem and
then running rb-site upgrade on the site directory.

We're going to put out a 1.0.3 release tonight that will fix this issue.
Seems there was an error in generating the packages for this release.

Yep. The Apache config file is in theory generated correctly in 1.0.2, but
in practice, as you noted, installation fails... Oops :/.

1.0.3 isn't that far away. I'll do a post to the mailing list when it's out.

 1) Until 1.0.2 install is fixed, use 1.0.1 till then.
 2) Conf directory path is buggy, fix it by editing the conf file.

Review Board 1.0.3 released

2009-09-16 Thread Christian Hammond
Last night's 1.0.2 release was pretty broken in two major ways. The web
server configuration templates were no longer bundled in the package, due to
a change in the structure of our code tree, and users using Django 1.0.2
would hit a bug, as we needed functionality only present in 1.0.3 and
higher.

The new 1.0.3 release should address these problems. If you've been bitten
by 1.0.2 (our deepest apologies), please give this release a try and let us
know how it works.

Full release notes are available at
http://www.review-board.org/docs/releasenotes/dev/reviewboard/1.0.3/

Re: HTTPS certificate not accepted.

2009-09-16 Thread Varun Soundararajan

Hi Christian,

So as you have explained here, I did
sudo -u www-data

it led me to /var/www when i typed cd
now I did svn co https rep url
it asked me to accept cert permantnety to which i typed p
before that I created .subversion directory in /var/www and chowned to
www-data
I also created the directory for the rep url dir and chowned so that
the local copy can be created (otherwise it seems that www-data has no
permission to create any file in /var/www

Now when I give my diff file and path and click create request, it
says - HTTPS certificate not accepted. Please ensure that the proper
certificate exists in /home/varun/.subversion/auth for the user that
reviewboard is running as.

The confusion here is apache runs as www-data, but the error seems to
be printing saying that its trying to access /home/varun/.. path. I
also chmoded the entire .subversion directory in /home/
varun/.subversion and I still dont see reviewboard picking those
certs. (I would practically want reviewboard to use certs in
~/.subversion directory of the user www-data).

Is there something that I am missing?

Thanks
Varun

On Aug 25, 6:30 am, Christian Hammond chip...@chipx86.com wrote:
 Hi,

The easiest way to work around this is if you have read-only access to the
repository over http. If you do, then set that read-only HTTP URL as your
Path in the repository configuration, and set your HTTPS URL as the Mirror
 Path.

If not, then it gets a little more tricky. Essentially (and this may vary a
bit between installs on different distros), you'll need to sudo to the
Apache user, using its home directory and environment variables, and then do
an svn checkout of your repository somewhere. This should store the
certificate where the Apache user can get to it.

We're looking into making this work in a much smoother manner in a future
release without having to use any workarounds.

which is the solution?

Unable to successfully upload screenshot to Review Request.
http://code.google.com/p/reviewboard/issues/detail?id=641

*NOTE: Do not post confidential information in this bug report.*

What's the URL of the page containing the problem?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create new Review Request
2. Attempt to upload screenshot in JPEG format.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
A successful upload of the screen-shot should occur. Instead I get an error

Hi chipx86,
I understood your circumstances. I've checked the .egg and it looked
correctly.
BTW, I could not find required Django version in documentation area. Do you
write the specific version in your
install guidance?

Anyway, thank you for your quick response!

Issue 1316 in reviewboard: ReviewBoard should support brand new code

2009-09-16 Thread codesite-noreply

Status: New
Owner:
Labels: Type-Defect Priority-Medium

New issue 1316 by sra...@gmail.com: ReviewBoard should support brand new
code
http://code.google.com/p/reviewboard/issues/detail?id=1316

*NOTE: Do not post confidential information in this bug report.*

What version are you running?
1.0

When submitting a review to our version of ReviewBoard it asks for a
repository and to upload a diff file. For brand new code it may not be in
a known repository yet (or any for that matter) and a diff is irrelevant
since all the code is new. There should be a way to upload all new code to
ReviewBoard. This would allow us to put line by line comments on the
source and see other people's comments.
