This sounds like another issue fixed in the nightlies. There were a lot of
breakages in interdiffs in beta 4. THey're mostly fixed now, with a couple
small exceptions.

I get the same error when trying to view the "Changes between" two

against the repository works fine.
But I'm also clueless why this happens.
BTW, repository is subversion.
