You're right, I forgot this feature was added. Honestly I don't have
experience using it.

I think this was added since the last official release, though. You may have
to install a nightly, using:

$ easy_install -f http://downloads.review-board.org/nightlies/ -U RBTools

Re: posting paths with post-review

2009-06-16 Thread saadware

OK. I'm confused a bit. Look at the "Contents" section on the right
side of the page.

http://www.review-board.org/docs/manual/dev/users/tools/post-review/#posting-paths

You'll notice that the docs seem to indicate that posting paths is
supported in Perforce, as "Posting Paths" is located underneath the
"Perforce" section.

This may not be supported still, but I'm just curious why the docs
seem to indicate that it is.

Scott

Re: posting paths with post-review

2009-06-15 Thread Christian Hammond
Oh, so you want to post an entire file up for review?

This isn't supported by post-review directly. You'd have to generate a diff
containing the contents of the entire file and post it up for review through
the web UI.

It's possible someone else on this mailing list may have a script or
strategy for automating this.

Re: posting paths with post-review

2009-06-15 Thread Scott Saad
It is against Perforce. I'm trying to accomplish getting a file(s)
posted without generating a diff from the previous revision. Kind of
like when a new file shows up for the first time.

I misunderstood the docs. Is this possible with Perforce?

When using Perforce, you need to create a changeset with the files you want
to post and use that changeset number instead. The file paths support is for
Subversion, CVS, etc.

posting paths with post-review

2009-06-15 Thread saadware

I'm trying to post a path (opposed to a changelist) as laid out in the
docs:

http://www.review-board.org/docs/manual/dev/users/tools/post-review/#posting-paths

If I run the following command:

  post-review //path/to/dir/...

I get the following error message:

You must enter a valid change number.

It may just be a case where I'm misunderstanding the docs. Should this
be possible?

Kind regards,
Scott
