There isn’t anything different the talent has to do. The magic is handled by
the rsync scripts which run in cron.
Every 15 minutes I run an rsync script that checks if there are any new voice
tracks to send to the server. If there are, it sends them.
Every night at midnight I have an rsync
Other than the minimal delays (like when you hit the record button), it works
exactly the same as being local.
It may be better where you’re at. I live in the sticks and the Rivendell server
is on a 6MB/768K DSL line.

Hi,
I’m pleased to announce that there is a new Rivendell Wiki in development.
Fred Gleason has been very supportive of this and will be looking after the

We do remote voice tracking by doing the following:
1) Establish a VPN from remote locations to main Rivendell server location.
2) Remote Rivendell configurations use SQL server over VPN on main Rivendell

3) Remote Rivendell configurations use their own local copy of /var/snd.
4)
I created this quickly this morning. Please lt me know if you have any
problems.

Rivendell provides Web APIs for a lot of its functions, and has several web
pages in the /var/www/rd-bin directory. For example,
http://.../rd-bin/listlog.html will list the contents of a log, in XML
form. ("..." is your Rivendell machine's IP address.) The pages are very
