For Fade Up, the fade starts at the beginning of the cut (Cut Start) and ends at the Fade Up marker. For Fade Down, the fade starts at the Fade Down marker and ends at the end of the cut (Cut End). The arrows on the marker lines give a subtle hint of this. Adding a Segue marker with Fades confus
