One thing they tend to do is blow up RLMs, causing rdairplay to crash. For

When WHRB was doing remote broadcasting, they did not give the remote
operators access to rdairplay. Rivendell would put the remote on the air
at a designated time and go back to local programming at the end of the
period scheduled for the remote event; this was done for security reasons.
One approach might be to have rdairplay execute macros periodically that
communicate what is going on.
Another would be to read the metadata being sent to a stream or RBDS
system.

SaveLoG doesn't handle MARKER events properly, either. Both CHAIN and
MARKER events get entered with Type = 0, and appear in RdLogedit as Audio
events.

I just updated to RD 3.6.2. The SaveLog command still doesn't handle Chain
events properly, entering them as type Audio.

Well, it seems there's a problem with the SaveLog command. It doesn't
handle Chain events properly, entering them icorrectly as Audio events. I
haven't figured out a workaround yet.
I'm running RD 3.4 on this particular machine.

Never mind; it seems I can't use the 'admin' user to run the SaveLog
command. I have to create a new user and assign it the relevant
privileges.

What do those correspond to? Is it columns 1, 2, 3, etc? Rows 1, 2, 3,
etc? Panels S1, S2,
ins and outs, and a CD deck. That pretty much fills it
up. Trying to wire in an additional set of ins and outs for the on-board
audio simply won't fit. And having to have people try to change wiring to go
from production to on-air is going to be above their skill-set.

It's run by a startup script triggered by root's crontab at boot time.
There are no entries in any logs that show any problem.
