It has the new Betas

Here's a word of caution on the stable Broadcast Appliance:
I just reinstalled it due to a dying drive. I reinstalled from

folder is 'rivendell'. Permissions I see when looking at the folder while
in the browser (I think as user RD)are drwxrwx---
Can someone walk me through how to get into var/snd/, copy those files, and
then make the permissions correct?
Thanks so much

Thanks so much, Robert.
That rsync worked to move everything. My Rivendell can now play all my
files.
And I learned something in the process! Much appreciated.

The two things that I'm hung up on are the fact that this runs via USB and
that I have no idea how to program it into the RDAdmin.
But on the other hand, if anyone has a better suggestion of the GPIO
hardware that would allow at least 1 GPI and 1 GPO port I'd lo

The idea of running Rivendell on the Pi could be quite appealing for
multi-station radio groups... under certain conditions.
If I had the time and money here's how I'd do it.
BUILD A BIG BULLETPROOF SERVER-
Use server class hardware, redundant drives, lots of RAM and a big UPS to
run the official
This is very possible! I'm using this every day to have Rivendell start
back up after playing from another source.
Here's how I'm doing it: (and I too got lots of help from this list to make
it happen)

I couldn't begin to guess at the ease or difficulty of writing the code to

I use Rivendell and streaming from Securenet. I found it was pretty easy.
I have their Cirrus encoder installed on a Windows 7 computer on the
network. I know their system can use a generic icecast encoder, but the
artist/title stuff works best with their encoder.
Go into RDAdmin, select manage
I moved one of my stations from StationPlaylist successfully to Riv. I'm
working on the second one soon.

Hi All,
I've been having an odd issue recently on our 2 machine setup.
The background info: Station 2, which is a Rivendell network client
machine, plays a morning show that we get from internet delivered
syndication. There are 4 segments per hour that get automatically placed

I think a big component of my problem may be with this.

It's very possible the show segment that is playing the incorrect day's
audio is loaded in one of the lower positions of the rdairplay window by
I've got some more info on this problem. As it's still happening
sporadically even after some more 'padding' events between segments.
Today I managed to screenshot two cuts in separate carts where the audio
played wrong even though it looks like the server had imported the audio
correctly. I'm w
Hey Robert,
I just wanted to thank you for this tip. I have a setup that sounds
similar to yours- and was having the same lost sound card settings on
reboot problem.
Your solution worked perfectly and fixed an issue I've been having for over
a year and a half now.
Thanks a ton.

Hi Rivendell gurus,
I'm wondering if a problem I'm experiencing is a software bug or users not
following best practices.
My setup is a 2 machine setup. Machine 1 acts the server and runs RDAirPlay
for station 1's playback.
Machine 2 is a client and runs RDAirplay for station 2 playback.

I'll throw my vote to include this feature.
Here's how I have our RDCatch configured to display errors:
In RDAdmin, go to Manage Hosts. Select the machine that your RDCatch tasks
are running on. Click RDCatch to configure it.
There's a box with an Error RML. I have in there:
