Hi folks,
I'm new to the list but not to Ryu. I'm trying to create an OPFMatch on the
last 2 bits of the TCP source port in an OpenFlow 1.3 application. Can that
be done? Is it documented anywhere?
Thanks a lot,

Hi Suresh,
I see two use cases:
1.- Have an SDN domain look like a BGP router, for example, a central
office that grooms end-users and interacts with the ISP's infrastructure
2.- Researchy kind of things like using BGP-4 for a possible East-West
interface between SDN domains,

Hi Alvaro
The best way, if you are in OF1.3 is to split up things. Look at the
documentation regarding VLAN traffic. When I have VLAN traffic, I create a
specific table where I differentiate between non-tagged and tagged VLAN
traffic and if I need to get down to IP in VLAN traffic, I add an

Hi
it seems very unappropirate to read messages not devoted to Ryu in this
list. I would not mind a bit more of list moderation

Hi,
I’m on a mininet 2.2.2 with Rut as remote controller. Switches are OVSK. I’m
trying to create a meter at say 400 pps and apply it on ARP traffic on an input
to rate-limit the ARP traffic on an output. Is there any minimal working
example for this?

Hi Edison,
if you are willing to have two controller instances coexisting, you can
associate one switch with a Ryu running rest-router and another with a Ryu
running eg simple-switch-13. The instances have to listen on different
ports.

HI Diarmuid,
are you really sure about that? My reading is that the ONF is happy with
the current OpenFlow specs (<= 1.5) and that there seems no interest in
continuing evolving them. However that doesn't seem to mean that they are
not going to support it. How would they then continue to advertise

Hi Tanvir,
It's the other way round:
You set a timeout when you install the rule and that will remove the rule
and generate the OFPFlowRemoved event.
Good luck,

HI,
well, the approach depends on your environment.
One way would be to get the topology of your network, pre-calculate routes
and then reactively set the forwarding rules to implement the rules as the
packet goes from switch to switch. In this case, the first packet's RTT may
be miserable but th

Hi David,
You can always start from the code samples provided with Ryu. If you use
mininet to emulate and play around in your PC, start with a simple scenario and
one of the simple_switch_xxx examples. Make sure you understand how it works
and then make small modifications you’r towards your ap

Hi,
This has nothing to do with Ryu. It's your OpenFlow Switch that is saying
I'm OpenFlow1.0 and the app running in Ryu telling it's expecting OpenFlow
1.3.
So get an OpenFlow1.3 switch to 'play around' with simple_switch_13.py

Dear Hashimoto,
Unfortunately, I only know a couple of sentences in very basic Japanese, so
sorry.
I'll answer in English.
Please check at this site:

There you see the fields you can match packets with. I guess that i
Hi,
Isn't ping enough for you? You can use ping to see the e2e delay and IPerf
to generate background traffic. If you want to see the delay introduced by
Ryu, make sure all traffic goes through it (i.e. don't write table entries
to offload switching to the switch, which BTW is quite odd)

Hi Marcio,
in order to get BGP updates over a link, you need a BGP session established
that uses that link. Two questions:
1.- Do you have peers on all links?
2.- Do you really want that?
