the older instance of the driver still on the server).
In the meantime I solved the problem by using the cups driver (adobe
actually, since the cups one bombs out due to some long property name).

Hello,
last friday I switched my users from an old server running 2.2.12 to a
new one running 3.0.10 (that I've been testing myself and with
smbtorture). After a while I had to switch back to the old server
because some users were having serious problems. This is one

Most of my users (unfortunately me included) need to use a bloated,
badly designed piece of sh^Hoftware that only works with administrator's
rights (I won't say names but it's from a big german company strongly
pushing for software patents).
How can I assign those users Administrator's rights

Due to the problems I experienced switching my users to a new server,
I'd like now to migrate only some workstations at a time.
Since they all have to work on the same files, I though of nfs mounting
the new server disk on the old one, so the old server would be sharing

Viceversa if I'm using server A, accessing a file from B doesn't
propagate the oplock change to A :-(
Any suggestion?
NFS v4 has things to do locking.
what is Your version of NFS ?

I've looked at the changelog for 3.0.11 but I see nothing there
regarding this problem. I also searched google and I found something

but, alas, no followup or solution.
The new server is running mandrake linux 10.0, samba comes from
directory while the new one would be sharing the same
directory but from its own disk.
Is this an acceptable plan or am I going to have issues with
locking/oplocks?
