I have very heavy problems with the smbd daemon.
If I set the smb.conf to the local ldap
via ldapsam:ldap://127.0.0.1 or just ldapsam

I am using Samba 3.20b on a Suse Linux 10.0 machine as member
server in a W2K ADS.
Samba is working well, but I am getting those messages on the
W2K PDC daily:

The account NAWSERVER$ did not have a suitable key for generating a Kerberos ticket.

I have 2 subnets connected via VPN.
In one subnet is the W2K AD PDC in the
second a Samba 3.20b server.
I can't see the Samba Server on the other net in the
browsing list on a windows machine.
I think the cause for that is the VPN connection - is there
a chance to solve that?

Yes I was afraid of that I have to enable WINS again - I changed the
configuration to
use DNS resolution only just 1/2 a year ago ...
