I beleive the confusion is because an LDAP DN can be either in the format
cn=xx,ou,yy,dc=ddd or uid=xx,ou=yy,dc=ddd and this is dependant on the object you
are describing. Take a look at the object with an ldapsearch and it will tell you what

I am sorry if this is a Newbie Question, But I am confused on what I
read in the FAQ about this.
What I have at the moment is a machine with Two net cards, one of

I am new to samba but becuase I use squid and I want to track my authenticated users I
installed samba 3 but keep hitting dead ends on how to add it to the domain etc. I
