Hi there !
You're willing to join a 2k domain, right ?
First of all, your domain must be an AD domain. So you've got to install and
configure Kerberos.
And also make changes in the smb.conf.
See the Samba-HOWTo-Collection.pdf for more details.

Hi,
I'm having trouble getting a logon script to work...
I have created a DOS batch file (timesync.bat) and placed it in the scripts

The file contains only one line - net time \\ptlserver /SET /y
My smb.conf Globals section is:-

netbios
Yesterday it was working very good, but today:
# /usr/local/samba/bin/smbclient -L 192.168.0.11
added interface ip=192.168.0.100 bcast=192.168.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
session request to 192.168.0.11 failed (Called name not present)
session request to 192 failed (Called name not present)
Everytime I add or remove some samba shares, I must restart smb service to
take effect.
Is there anyway to reconfig it without restart?

Yes there is, you must kill -HUP your parent smbd process, either work out which
pid it is from running ps -aef (-aux or whatever
for your UNIX platform)

Hi Mike,
You may need to create the netlogon folder in your Samba directory tree.
Samba is installed on my servers in /usr/local/samba - netlogon is a
subfolder of that, with scripts being a subfolder of the netlogon
directory.
My logon scripts are therefore in /usr/local/samba/netlogon/scripts

Unless I missed something really large... you can have exactly one

What exactly are you trying to gain by having completely seperate
