Hi,
Try if it still works with the older kernel.
today I tried it with the 2.4.22/2.4.24 and it still doesn't work :-(
I also tried sane-backend 1.0.13 with both kernels, also no success
It's unbelievable. I don't know why it doesn't work.
O.K. it worked with 2.4.22 on my Gentoo box. Now,
HI,
why I should try this old modul (http://www.rzg.mpg.de/~mpd/sane/)?
sane worked for me in version 1.0.13 so I see no need for testing out this old
stuff.
And the canoscanFB620S? what is this? I can't find it in the web?
Do you really think, that this will work with a canon 2700 film
I am sorry for the problem, but it appears that the
introduction of focus controls for the Canon FS2710
somehow disrupted the focus controls for the FS2700.
Unfortunately, I do not have an FS2700, and so I
cannot test the backend for this scanner.
If you say that sane version 1.0.13 worked for
Hi.
Yes, the lamp is on, and when acuiring a preview, the `arm' is on the
top of the scanner and seems finished with the job.
is this error of such a kind that i can bring the scanner back to the
shop and aquire a new one? seems like a hardware error to me.
thanks again,
bests,
havard

HI,
thank you very much for this long and good explanation.
Unfortunately and this is REALLY strange I can't find anymore a working
version of sane for me.
I tried version 1.0.12, 1.0.13, 1.0.14 on Kernel 2.4.22, 2.4.24 and 2.4.26.
This is a behaviour, I don't understand.
I will test my

Did you change the firmware entry in snapscan.conf to point to the

yes, it should be the correct firmware.

Hi,
it might well be that the firmware of the V310 doesn't understand the commands
for shadow and highlight operations. The firmwares of the different microtek
scanners have different peculiarities and that's why this isn't very easy to
handle in the code (microtek has a unique driver for each
Havard,
Please take a look at a web page I wrote on how to install the
Perfection 1670, which includes some troubleshooting hints. Let me know
what the problem was and how you fixed it and I will include those
comments in the next draft of the page.
Sincerely yours,
