function I found in the examples. It keeps up with the last 3 artist
played and rejects duplicate artists. I suppose a stack would be
better but there is speed you will have to think about. A function
can't be to busy during track

I'm not sure where your issue is coming from but you can certainly apply a
custom amplify() to your final source.

Do you mean that for when liquidsoap acts as a icecast source client?
Could you share more of the client configuration? Also, have you tried to
directly visit :9000/live ?
