I think ppl might have been misled by my earlier statements. I KNOW Joe was
not the bassist on the latest album. THAT is why I was curious about his
style.
Thanx,
Jared
I would like to express my appreciation to everyone who had input on the
various bass players involved in the Sunny Day experience. Hopefully, some
day soon, I will be able to sample Mr. Skyward's talents myself, either on a
record, or in person. Who know's? Maybe someday SDRE will even come
This may appear to be off the subject at first, but bear with me please.
I don't remember when Smashing Pumpkins came out with Gish, but I'd
definately agree that it was and still is a fantastic album. I do
remember when Siamese Dream came out, and it was a huge step for the band.

I hope sunny day doesn't turn into what smashing pumpkins did. they are one
of the best bands. I hope to see more heavy stuff on their next record.
Maybe the idea of walking through the grocery
store andhearing the local high school football team humming the melody of
the latest sunny day single appeals to you but to me its a farce. The idea of
going to a show at a large venue
and getting punched in the face in an out of
control mosh
This issue has been on my mind a lot lately for some reason, how a
band gets successful and all their old fans leave them by the
roadside, citing "the band sold out". I have NO FREAKIN CLUE why
people would think that going to a major label indicates an
abandonment of their morals and fans.
Hey -
Ok, i've been on the list for the last week and was waiting for a good
sybject to jump into! Here it is! I remeber early Pumpkins history... That
stuff rocked like fucking hell! However, they got famous off of their 2 worst
songs ever (Bullet W/ Butterfly Wings and 1979). I figured
[EMAIL PROTECTED] has it right on the money. The Beatles sold out with
the first album they ever did and then spent the rest of their career
trying to gain respect from the rest of their peers. Sunny Day is a band
such that their music does not appeal to the public at large unless it was
I dunno about the Smashing Pumpkins but most musicians I run into usually
get pissed off if one man band leaders insist of playing every instrument
on you new album, it's got to create some kind of tension.

I think that the whole thing is wrong. Bands don't sell out (we'll
usually don't sell out) their fans sell out, or even worse, the shrubs
sell in. there is nothing more sickening to a "fan" for him/her to listen
to a band (like Sunny Day) for a couple of years with all the shrubs at
your school
yah, me too!!...?

I would like to get that video from you. thanks. matt.
Okay everyone, this is in regards to the whole sunny day signing controversy:
As you all know Dan has a farm. Dan is going to lose his farm if he doesn't
come up with the finances to provide for it. Sunny Day isn't a bunch of rich
guys. They're actully kind of poor. I don't know about you
Hey everyone!
well, i just got done compiling the results to the geography poll i
did. there were 52 entries (including myself) in this one, which is
up from my last one, so that's cool. i appreciate everyone who took
the time to take part in this. =)
here are the results:

Its up to the band not the label if they sell out--i saw less than jake who
has been on capitol for almost 3 years now on sunday and i saw them for 7
bucks and i saw jimmy eat world in feb or march in basically a place the size
of a garage and they are on capitol as well for 3 years now--and
Well,
To start off here are a few thoughts: I hate major labels, I love Sunny Day,
money is needed to survive, Sunny Day will have the uper hand in talks about
the music because they have a great fan base (us), Sub Pop proably isn't a
label right now and Virgin records is not that bad a place
Due to my lack of sleep, hard work on the new site (end of April I
PROMISE), school work, and the fact that J. Palmer wrote one bad
muthafucka of a tab for this song, Guitar and Video Games will NOT be
completed for bass until the end of my pillars work. Sorry. Also, I
noticed a lot of people
I'm into that!!!

Here's an idea for ya skullz:
Hows about a save Dan's Farm-a-thon? Even if they do sign to a major
label and get big bucks to save the farm, we could invite all these
great bands and it could be like a big excuse for a
Hi there
For those interested in the Seattle/UW show on April 26:
I went by the ticket office today in the HUB and the guy there said he
was expecting to receive the tickets today but they haven't arrived
yet.
He just said to check back everyday. (Though ASUW Arts said the show
should go
Didn't Willy Nelson do something like that? Anyways, I'm in Seattle and I'd
be willing to help out on something like that, but I for one have no idea
where to start on something like that. Before we get to carried away, is it
a rumor or a fact that Dan may be in trouble with his farm? Do bands
