ok, now that my jokingness is out of me we should stop worring about
sunny day, and stand by our favourite band, and show them we support
them and every decision they make, they are grown-ups and they can
fend for themselves. what do you say guys!?!?!?
steve.
rain song so beautiful my
sorry brian, i have to say this.
1. all punk rock is power chords.
2. nirvana are a very good band, they are the first punk rock i ever
heard, if not for them, i would never got into indie, and punk and
never heard sunny day, and i would be some tennessee redneck hooked on
garth brooks and pam
ya know, the promise ring are a pop band, straight up, like superchunk
this whole "emo" tag is just thrown out at any band now.
i had the chance to talk with jim adkins [jimmy eat world] when j.e.w.
played at u. of sweanee last week and here is what he said about the emo
tag, quote unquote.
almost correct, your forgetting the G note...

i believe jeremy was using a Vox
jeremy enigk efx pedals.
ibanez ts9 tube screamer.
gray distortion box of unknown brand.
stage tuner.
dan horner efx.
stage tuner.
ibanez tube screamer.
this is what i saw in nashville @ soundcheck up close. and of course that
night during the show.
dan uses his ts9 for a overdrive boost, this
the ac-30's are excellent amps but the orginal models were kinda bad cause
they ran so hot and burnt out the valves [tubes] really fast, newer models
have larger heat vents for longer life of the valves.
interesting note: jeremy plays vox because the beatles used them, and so
does u2 guitarist
For those interested, go to kndd.com and click on playlist.
Then search for Sunny Day Real Estate.
There is a nice page w/pics, articles, etc.
I was pleasantly surprised!

ok 1: dan's solo album.
has any one else heard flatland spider 7" this is sunny day as a grunge
band, im serious. dan's vocals are scratchy and wailing not much unlike that
of kurt cobain's. and im sure almost all of every one here liked nirvana
[and dont fucking lie about it either!!!] i
well your wish just might come true, word on the street is [ according to a
letter my friend sent me] sunny day signed to sire records. as did sebadoh
[we think subpop has some deal working w/sire now]
as far as "emo" going maistream i have no problem w/that. it means we
[meaning those in
no this isnt a tab, sorry!
but ive ben skrewing around w/the song and the first chord to the song seems
to be either a minor, minor 7th, or a Cmaj7.
ive tried these
Bminor: x20230
Cmaj7: x32000
Bmin7: x20200
Dmin: xx0231 [actually at the show i could have swore that i saw jeremy's
hand form

Hey there
howdy.
im very interested in knowing just how many "flatland spider" and "thief..."
seven inches were actually pressed. id kinda like to know how many are out
there floating around.
id say,
f.s. - 2,000
t.s.m.p. - 2,500
just my guesses, but i would like a solid number.
-s.
n.p. - 764-hero "now
just outta wonderin
who here would still like to see a proper odds and ends album come out.
with lots of nifty pictures, taken by fans at various shows!!!
just let the fans submit photos and the band could sift through them and
make decisions...
we would also be allowed to vote on which
ive sat by long enough and not said a word
people expect a great live band to consist of jumping around and yelling at
the highest point of the heavens
not true/so
radiohead are looked at by some to be an amazing live band and yet they are
shoegazers to a certain extent
the music flows out of
hooray for me ive finally figured it out, the pillars intro.
title: "Pillars" [intro]
band: Sunny Day Real Estate
release: " How it feels to be something on" sup plop 1998 sp#409
Tuning: E A D G B E
E=---
there is no way you can do it like that. [in standard]
but you can use drop D and play it like this.
D F A#
D 0 3 x
A 0 3 1
D 7 3 3
G 7 x 3
B x x 1
E x x 1
you can figure out the octaves by ear. pretty simple, only 3 chords to it
all.
-steve.
ps i hope this helps. =)
this would be great! i'd love to see sunny day do something like smashing
pumpkins did on the mellon collie tour, come out and do an acoustic set and
then take a 20 minute break, come back out and ROCK OUT!!! electric
style.
very nice.
heart.

Which members were in empty set? was it all of them, just with a
different name?
guys, guys,
jeremy and dan BOTH wrote lyrics for "the rising tide" and both of these
gentlemen are good lyrical composers. (im my humble opnion, God knowing my
opnion being the only one im qualified to give...) at any rate i believe
sunny day are like a fine wine, they sure are getting better
to all
here is some neato suff ive found out while talking to willie and enigk, at
some of shows ive seen on this tour.
will has said the writing process for the next sdre record has already
started. (i was lucky enough to catch the soundcheck for the nashville show
and did hear them run
jeremy no longer uses the the overdrive pedal that greg built. both dan and
enigk use multi efficts racks and boards.
also dans marshall cab is a 2x12"
