ya know, the promise ring are a pop band, straight up, like superchunk
this whole "emo" tag is just thrown out at any band now.
i had the chance to talk with jim adkins [jimmy eat world] when j.e.w.
played at u. of sweanee last week and here is what he said about the emo
tag, quote unquote. "man, all emo is is just a tag for twentysomething boys
and girls playing in bands, like grunge, rites of spring, the promise ring,
it's two different sounds....."
