I have a Aldila Tour Gold HM 40, 65 Gram, S-Flex shaft installed in a Goldwin XXL300cc 200 gram head. The CPM is 254 at 45, no tip trimming. I see no problem achieve your desired results with tip trimming. Do you have a frequency machine? If not I would think that 1.5 would give you a about 9 cpm
