My family has used camphor(alcohol mix) for canker sores by wetting cotton swab, then holding against the sore---yow! Readily works, but ouch! I remember that when I was growing up and drinking lots of the old coke, plus eating 5 cent candy, I would grow them nasties quite often!

Does he take Acidophilus regularly? Sugared up store yogurt is not a good source. I find cutting a piece of Aloe Vera leaf in half after trimming any spiny parts off and putting the gel surface on the sore and leaving it in the mouth a while does great at healing the sores. Nancy -- The

I have had great results with large amounts of lysine each day - 2 - 3,000 mg for a child. Since I began drinking generous amounts of CS each day, no sores. I've had two reports of canker sores disappearing with plenty of CS each day - 6 to 8 oz day.

I have a question about canker sores. My 8 year old boys seems plagued with them. I know that Lysine is good for cold sores (herpes virus) but is it also good for canker sores? What else can be done as he seems to have 2-3 in his mouth at any one time. Now he has a sore on his tongue. I

If it were me, I would take the CS/food grade h202 (four drops 12%)- probably one pint for a 8 yr old, swish and swallowafter the symptoms go away, alternate the cs/h202 one day, and lots of vit c the next, and selenium ..(I'm doing this, and having good results) -- The Silver List
