Ideally, the two dial-ups would be standard modems. Certainly the client
one would need to be. The client end would have

Hmm. And to the _right_ place this time...
As a follow up to this. and since it's my fault :) two things:

Just a quick note on my posting about KDE 2.0.1 instability.
KDE crashed after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Upgrading X to 4.0.2 seems to have fixed this problem.

I've been trying to get some sense out of Telstra for weeks but just hit a brick wall.
Does anyone know whether Telstra offer a STATIC ip address for ADSL users. I have a
NAT-ed network that I would like to be able to set up PAT on so I can receive an SMTP
and SSH feed.
Does anyone know

Hi,
IPrimus (Even though reselling the Telstra product) are also offering fixed
IPs. However so far they have only been able to deliver home service with
dynamic IP. However that works well and reasonably fast (750kbits actual
download on 1500kbits link).
Setup was also no problem on my RH6.2

smb_auth wouldn't work due to samba being too old, so upgrade samba, no
