Glad to know the flag is working for you.
The refactoring was done to improve selection response in large/complex scenes
(in some scenes, up to 20x faster).
The algorithm was changed significantly so we introduced XSI_DISABLE_NEW_PICK
to revert back to the legacy algorithm in case of issues.
