OK so my workaround to have many eliptical waves is to have individual
grids with waves on, scaled to make them elliptical, then my main surface
is shrinkwrapped onto those using raycast location in ICE.
I've still got a slight issue where they overlap, but it's pretty much
there.
On 14 October 2
ideally I want to apply 7 or 8 waves to the same surface, each with a
different elliptical profile.

Could you scale the grid points, apply the wave deformer, and then scale
it back after?

Hi All,
I'm using a standard wave deformer in Soft to deform a grid into a

Oh I see. Rather than use a wave, use ICE to deform the surface using sin.
Or I was just trying the lattice on wave idea, but can't get that to work.
I'll carry on dabbling.
Thanks

Use a lattice box on the grid and scale it as needed? Just put the lattice
deformer on top of the wave deformer.
