This messages point to a custom "repo" for Debian / Ubuntu clients with

Hi James,
I posted a similar inquiry a few weeks ago. I have difficulty getting Debian
clients to play nicely with Spacewalk and I haven’t found an over abundance of
related documentation online for managing Debian/Ubuntu. From previous list
traffic, I know we have some active users out

Hi,
I'm just getting around to trying this out and I'm finding an issue
with the
python-gudev dependency for rhn-client-tools. Python-gudev appears to be
dependent on libgudev, and both those packages

Hi,

Hi,
Since 2.6 Spacewalk officially supports Ubuntu. You shouldn't use
"debianSync.py"
workaround any more.
I would suggest you to wipe the whole old Ubuntu packages and start over
from clean page.
Software Channel -> Repositories -> Create a new repository -> Repository

Can anyone be able to help me with this error?

Hey Tony,

I wasn't able to check it yet.

I’m using it with a handful of 14.04 systems and it’s a little painful until
you figure out the requirements. I used the excellent information from this
blog which covers the topic in great detail.
http://www.devops-blog.net/category/spacewalk
And this PPA with a critical patch applied.
We are using SpaceWalk 2.3 on CentOS with Precise clients at the moment.
The only thing I could not get to work was having the channels sync via to a
remote satellite via ISS.
But everything else works fine.
But, if you are asking if the server can run on Ubuntu, that I won't be able to

Hello,
we're trying to use Spacewalk to manage our Ubuntu-based servers.
Everything is fine and works as expected, except one thing:
When a package has a version that contains an epoch, Spacewalk lists
that package under Extra Packages and it is impossible to rollout
updates for it.
Hello,
it looks like this problem sits somewhere between the client when
submitting installed packages and the server when inserting the received
package list into the database.
All packages with epoch set have no associated package_id in
rhnServerPackage, but there are also a few that have

Do not know (but it is possible). You are welcome to write it.

It would be nice, but not
I got debian working - including updates for all repos EXCEPT the security
one (i.e the most important..)
I think due to the fact that the security repos include the distro name
inside the version name and that confuses spacewalk.
Really spacewalk is not debian/ubuntu compatible at the moment -
