Pete: I've seen setups where a separation assembly, similar to the illustration in NFPA 13 Figure A.9.3.3(a) of a Seismic Separation Assembly, were used. Other pipe lengths and distances were used to account for the tide changes. Larry Keeping, P.Eng. Professional Loss Control 3413 Wolfedale

Jeff, Thanks for providing more specific information about the project as well as identifying the AHJ. First, however, please understand that compliance with NFPA 701 does not mean the fabric is noncombustible. NFPA 701 is a flame propagation standard. In order to qualify as noncombustible the

I agree with the field inspector if the canopy is immediately adjacent to the building - within inches - and if there are combustibles under it. If it is further than that it would be subject to whether or not it falls under the definition of "attached" in the building code. Greg McGahan Living

For large fluctuations requiring long runs, and if you do your geometry right, you can use shorter flex lines at either end with rigid pipe in between. On Thu, Oct 30, 2014 at 7:49 AM, wrote: > I had a similar application back in 2010. We contacted US HOSE CORP ( > www.ushosecorp.com) about a c

I had a similar application back in 2010. We contacted US HOSE CORP (www.ushosecorp.com) about a custom fab stainless steel braided hose. Due to the possibility of multiple planes of movement the Metraflex was not going to work. The other things to think about are UV exposure, temperature var

That's the best way I've seen. And if you have a larger main that you are flowing thru, you can use FDC's (as connectors) and multiple hoses to get the flow you need. Cliff Whitfield, SET President Fire Design, Inc. Ph: 719-488-3479   cl...@fire-design.com www.fire-design.com -Original Me
