We have a contractor that is refusing to flush the UG pipe prior to tie in
because he "has never done it in 20 years". I can find something in NFPA 13R
that requires a flush but nothing in 13D.. Anyone have any insight on why
its not required in 13D?

Todd,
We want them to be able to mark up changes on plans ( they will still have a

all of our forms on there so they can do paper work st

NFPA 13 8.17.2.4.7.1 says the lettering needs to be at least 1" in height on
plate or fitting reading service design. Is this just referring to "FDC
AUTOSPRINK" or should every letter on the sign (address) be min. 1" in height?

We run into this all the time, we have a code interpretation from the state
fire marshal (California) stating a system is deficient if its missing it.

I don't see a 12.1.11.2.2
But for a floor mounted obstruction you should be using figure 8.10.6.2.2

Only problem is its vague and I think the committee did that on purpose. “minor
quantities” is up for too much interpretation

This one is intriguing to me If chapter 13 designates it an OH2 shouldn't a
system be allowed to be @ 52,000 sqft regardless of rack storage?
