Someone started an open source calc program. It is on sourceforge.net The name
of the program was called sprinkle If we all emailed the author, it may kick
start someone into working on it again. I also have a BETA of a calc program.

I've never been allowed to calc the cross connected system on a high
rise as a loop. They've only allowed us to calc a single source with the
other source being redundant.

I have a plan checker that is requiring a ceiling plan that shows sprinklers
only, no pipe. I've heard rumors that this is required in NFPA #13 2002, but
I cannot find it. Is this required on working drawings?

I seem to remember a density (.17 / 3000' ? - .25 / 3000'?)) for buildings
with undetermined occupancy. Such as a spec building or a lease building.

Item #3 says the source can be determined by the AHJ. Couldn't this
arrangement (dry valve) be provided and then the water supply (pumper
