and 4 will be maintained in parallel, since version 4 brings some
fundamental changes that users might not want and/or agree with and
therefore prefer to stick with version 3.
I think that falls into the UNKNOWN category,
I realize that it is still a Work In Progress, and I realize I can download
the code and compile for my code. But I'm kind of curious as to what the
remaining life span of version 3 is looking to be.
