I'm not sure if this will help but I had exactly the same error but only on 
some Vista and XP installations.  After much research I found that VC 2010 
runtime support was missing from these PCs.  If this is the same as your 
problem then you can either try one of the SQLite statically linked packages 
(for example: sqlite-netFx40-static-binary-bundle-Win32-2010-1.0.81.0.zip)
or you can install the VC runtime on each target PC
(http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=)

I must admit, I thought that SQLite was self-contained and had no dependencies, 
but that's another story.

routine copies the 32-bit DLL files onto the 32-bit operating system, I am 
receiving the same errors.  Installing the application (using the same install 
routine) on a 64-bit operating system does work fine.  This makes me think that 
there is something I am doing wrong and maybe the 32 and 64-bit DLLs are 
getting mixed up.

Peter,

I'm not sure if this will help but I had exactly the same error but only on

On Friday, my when I ran the install routine and everything was installed on my 
32-bit OS, it did not work properly.  Then I manually copied the 
SQLite.Interop.dll over to the 32-bit OS, and it worked.  However, when I 
included this file in the install program it did not work.  Now I am unable to 
get it to work at all.

I have, however, reverted to an older version of SQLite (v2.0.50727) and if I 
include the following text:



  

in the .Config file, then everything works.  So I think that I am going to 
stick with this at the moment since it works.

Okay, I've tried everything I can think of to get this to work.  I've been at 
it for 4 days now!!

I know that it is possible, because it did run on the 32-bit XP system that I 
was running my installation on - that's when I copied the 32-bit 
SQLite.Interop.dll from the 64-bit OS to the 32-bit OS.  Then I rebuilt the 
install routine to use this file, but it has not worked since.  I have 
absolutely no idea what to try next.

Is there a similar program to SQLite that I might be able to use in C#?

I thought that things were going to work ok on Friday, but now that my Install 
routine copies the 32-bit DLL files onto the 32-bit operating system, I am 
receiving the same errors.  Installing the application (using the same install 
routine) on a 64-bit operating system does work fine.  This makes me think that 
there is something I am doing wrong and maybe the 32 and 64-bit DLLs are 
getting mixed up.

On a 64-bit machine managed executables run as 64-bit assemblies (and
thus can only load 64-bit DLLs) unless the 32-bit flag is set in the
assembly.  You can set this flag via Visual Studio's "Platform Target"
option or CorFlags.exe.  I also seem to recall if a 32-bit assembly
launches a managed assembly, it'll be run as a 32-bit process.

This is why I use a custom SQLite DLL.  I compile and ship both 32 bit
and 64 bit versions and load the proper DLL at runtime depending on
how my process has been run.  Sadly, my solution has too many other
custom features to be something I can publish.

Except that 64-bit executable cannot load 32-bit DLL and vice versa.
I'm not sure how this rule is applied to managed executables and DLLs
loading unmanaged DLLs.

is just a count records in this table and display it on a test label. ).

For device drivers, the 32 & 64 bit difference can be incompatible. For
other libraries, DLL functions are just like exe ones.  The 64 bit machine
should execute the 32 bit code.
