OMG, it was that simple! Jeez I feel dumb! :-( I don't 'play with' LMS

Some unknown occurrence today caused a Windows 10 BSOD (never had one
before; only using W10 since mid-year). After rebooting, LMS produced
strange error messages (didn't capture them) and wouldn't display the
usual interface. I could not access its Settings, but it did offer a

OK, it's been several days since I reinstated the %ALBUM*.jpg in
Settings/Advanced/Formatting/Artwork, and nothing 'crazy' has happened,
so I have no idea what caused the original craziness.
Anyway, thanks to Mike for steering me in the right direction, and for
his tireless work on LMS.

Mike, thanks for the advice, which seems to have worked. All's well
now. And in the process of reconfiguring all

OK, I'll try to do that this weekend, and post a fresh log if the
problems are still there. Might clear all my

Files are on an internal HDD on the Win7 machine running LMS.
Here's the latest log file, but I didn't see anything sinister in the
last few days. There are lots of 'missing tracks', because from time to
Sorry for the vague title, but so many problems have suddenly appeared I

Thanks, I've programmed my pre-restore batch file to back-up both prefs
*and* cache directories and their subs, just to be sure.

It's OK; ignore my last post (stop svc from cmd line). After some
Googling, I found that 'net stop squeezesvc' does the trick!

On a related matter, so I can automate the backing-up of LMS 'current'
data prior to an image-restore, what command-line command would shut
down the LMS prior to copying the dynamic data? Would I need to program
a delay to allow time for LMS to stop?

Thanks for this initial info. Is it the '*cache*' folder I need to
back-up? If so, just all the *files* in it, or the *sub-directories*
too?

On rare occasions (e.g. after a software installation really stuffs-up
my system and can't be rolled-back), I need to restore my C: drive from
a nightly image backup. Before I do that, I save (to D: drive) certain
'real-time' info (on C: drive) used by some programs (e.g. Outlook

Thanks Michael, I'll do as you suggest and submit a bug report. Are you

Oh yes there would! I use the digital (Toslink) output from all but one
of my SB3 units, with volume fixed at 100% (otherwise I couldn't play

Michael,
Sorry, but it's too far back for me to find the correspondence with
Logitech. In hindsight it was more likely

Yes, I too had concluded that the sleep function, even for 'at end of
song', was simply time-based.
But no, just adding a second would not be a
I first reported this (to Logitech) in 2007, shortly after buying two

price!). They agreed it was a bug, but did nothing about it (surprise,
surprise!).
It has existed in every version of LMS (and its predecessors) I've ever

No, that does nothing doesn't start play again, and doesn't even move
the play 'pointer' to the next track! The only work-around that I've
found to work is: (1) Press

MR,
Sorry for my lack of clarity (and your unfamiliarity with the feature
I'm talking about) it is '*Sleep*' at end of song, not pause. So it
can't be 'un-paused', but playing has to

Why am I getting frequent LMS updates (a few every week for the past

I'm really glad to see that 'Playlists' has been added back to the

MANY THANKS this was the problem! That's a setting I have not come

Owing to numerous problems with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, I have just
restored my C: drive from an old image (2015!), and as a result needed
to update LMS to a newer version than I had then. I installed version
7.9.2 - 1527861596. Then I had to re-customise some of my settings.
