Well spotty and youtube relies on that the iosocket::SSL support is
installed on the system .
Thats on the OS itself it never comes with LMS . There are reasons for
that .
On some OS its as easy as a gui packet installer or a single command in
a shell and your set .

Just chiming in because I had the same question/issue..
I was unable to update to LMS 7.9 on my qnap NAS and someone over there
suggested a raspberry pi. Since I had one lying around I tried it out
and it works flawlessly.
I use a first gen Rpi with Max2Play. It's a plug and play solution on
