Thanks for the laugh out loud! I once worked with a person who felt if
her code (written in 'C') compiled,

I can see this if you already have the equipment. But I would never
recommend buying equipment that requires Upnp on purpose.

I wouldnt touch anything that is not recognized as a Squeezebox
endpoint (eg real touch or transporter or rPi with piCorePlayer feeding
a good DAC). Moving to upnp now would be like trading in your 2021 smart
phone for a 20 year old PalmPilot with an add-on 300 baud portable modem

Ive been thinking about purchasing a hi end streamer but keep taking
myself out of it. However if I eventually do succumb I would want to use
it with the UpnpBridge. The only way I can think of ensuring that it
will work is to take a full working LMS with me if I audition the
streamer somewhere.

Thanks to all for your replies... sounds encouraging.
Probably the best step would be to spend a little $$ on a low end device
and play around with the plugin before pulling the trigger on a
unit.
Will see if there are any dealers in Kiwi Land for the unit but
probably wont be.
I use the uPNP/DLNA bridge with a couple of different endpoints. It
works pretty well (including artwork display, native player controls and
LMS controls), but it is perhaps slightly flakier than using a native
player. There are a lot of settings to play with which might improve
matters, but
I use the bridge to connect to a pairof Kef LSX wireless speakers.
Initially I had occasional problems with the speakers failing to move on
to the next track, but since ticking the "Flow" option in the UPNPBridge
settings that no longer happens - the plugin and speakers are used for
hours each
I simply installed PhillipeÂs DLNA UPNP Bridge on LMS and my Naim Uniti
Atom just showed up as a player in LMS. Not only did playing a song work
great, but the album art and title showed perfectly on the Uniti
display, and the metadata that the Naim App looks at to construct a cool
booklet just
