Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Server Machine Alternatives.
A bit late to this discussion, but after many years running LMS on a "full fat" SuperMicro x86 Ubuntu server I migrated last year to an Odroid HC1 and couldn't be happier. It has an integral 2.5" disk mount / massive aluminium heatsink and runs cool, quiet and maintenance free using a very stable Armbian / Debian Linux distribution. Copes easily with a 13.5K track / 9 player system. If I was making the choice now I'd probably go for an Odroid HC2, which hadn't been launched when I bought my HC1 - essentially the same thing but with added support for 3.5" / 12V disks rather than the HC1's 2.5" / 5V limit. There are certainly faster and slightly cheaper options with more "features" available (I also own several generations of Raspberry Pi and will probably get a Pi4 for use as a TVHeadend server) and you do need some basic Linux knowledge to get the thing running properly compared to PcP / max2play, but for a robust, well-engineered mini-server device with decent heat dissipation I think the HC1 or HC2 take some beating. That said, for a first Linux system then the Pi4 / PcP option would definitely be my recommendation and sounds like it's running very well for you - welcome to the world of SBCs :) Odroid HC1 / Armbian Stretch LMS & LocalPlayer 4x Slim Devices SB3 (White) 1x Boom, 1x Radio 2x Joggler + Squeezeplay / Squeezelite + Topping TP30 florca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7486 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110796 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9.2 - Media scan terminated unexpectedly (Scanning Progress)

I typically have 2 LMS (MAX2PLAY) servers on identical Pi's with only one running at any time, and the other used as a player and a possible LMS backup. Both LMS's are pointing towards the same music folder on a FREENAS platform using the same user credentials. I have found LMS 7.9.0 will scan properly, but later releases will "terminate unexpectantly" with the last log entry pointing at a "invalid rating tag". Scott 2 CHAN. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS web interface keeps becoming unresponsive on Debian 10
I'm on Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 1564003588 and LMS is dog slow in responding. Unfortunately I upgraded to an RPI4, piCorePlayer 6.01 and the new LMS all in one fell swoop. Not sure which or if it is a combo that is the culprit. I use almost no Plugins and of course everything worked fine on the old 3B+ pi and pcP 5.0. Not sure where to start or if it is even an LMS issue. May wait until a new version of LMS comes out to see if it sorts itself out, but would appreciate any suggestions in the mean time. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] library rescan seems to start at random times
I prefer to have LMS rescan only when I want it to, but it seems to do it on it's own at random intervals. Is there a control I am missing? thanks Mongo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6329 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110808 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
