The question mark (?) icon is shown by SuperDateTime on the main screen
of my SB2 when I leave the default HTTPS. This indicates that it cannot
update.
Perhaps it is the OS since I am still using Windows7; tried W10 but did
not like it although I still have backups of my W10 tries
LMS is no longer notifying that a server update is available, despite
.software update being activated.
This behaviour has started with one of the recent updates within the
last week.

The default setting (WebGUI/Advanced/Security) in LMS8 is to use HTTPS.
But when using HTTPS SuperDateTime will display the ? icon indicating
that it cannot update. Using HTTP fixes this problem and SDT can update
normally. MHERGER strongly recommends using HTTPS. I have no idea how to

check server.log for any information related to the update.

Yes the update routine, is changed a bit.
The same for the upgrade routine.
Removed some old stuff, and made some things smaller.

I tried to install it manually, extracting the ZIP file and placing it
in the InstalledPlugins, this fails on Perl unable to find the skin
module in the @INC path.
Don't mess with the InstalledPlugins folder. See Settings/Information
where the Plugins folder is.

I'm trying to install Material skin on the LMS. The HW is an old ARM
platform running old Debian port, not supported for a few years now, but
still functions well for running the LMS.

If you are testing with a playlist of more than one URL - then it will
complicate the log. For log of player.source use the streaming URL such
as http://broadcast.infomaniak.net/tsfjazz-high.mp3
