I've never tried to set up SSH on my Netgear NAS, because I don't trust myself; I've essentially no experience with Linus, other than once every 5 years or so booting my Windows machine(s) (using removable media) for rescue/repair. If I need to enable SSH, I can do so--Netgear offers an "Enable Root SSH Access" add-in. What do you have in mind?
