Can I move my LMS to a new computer without having to scan my library
again?
It depends... but a new system would certainly need to be able to scan
your library, wouldn't it? Why try to skip it initially?

1. not all docker images are the same.
I have played around quite a number of different images. The size of
these images varies greatly from image to images. the official LMS
community build is only 200 some Mbs. some others are as big as 900's
mbs. What causes this differences in size?

I have logged the memory usage during the rescan under 8.2.1. The result
is roughly the same as in 7.9.3. Start at about 48%, up to 58%, then to
about 68% at the end and then it stops. The fact that the usage is 3-5 %
points higher may only have to do with the running performance monitor

I just moved all my playlists out of the playlist-folder and then the
rescan completed without any error. So there must have changed something
concerning the handling of playlists? Some of them have many thousand
titles.

already for a long time I have the problem that my Logitech Media Server
(often) doesn't startup after reboot.
It is set to:
"Automatically start server when system boots"
I've tried it at "Automatically start server at login" with no different
results.

Glad you found it. You might consider updating to latest LMS release
8.2.0:

picoplayer or equivalent . the dockerized option being described as too
heavy and not the best use of a NAS seen as
