[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Oneliner to get currentsong or now playing artist + songtitle on specific player
Hi, I have been wading through this forums vast content, but can not seem to find a working answer. I need a one line URL to get the now playing song and artist info. When I try this http://192.168.1.29:9000/status.html#currentsong. I still get the complete server xml/html. I know i need to include the mac address of the player, but the syntax is not clear to me. Is it possible? Or should I maybe use the CLI interface to make a txt file I can scan? If yes, some good pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Music streaming stops intermittently
Thank you, Ralphy and bpa! Indeed, there are many threads that describe similar bugs, and I have been using the "Cache HTTP(S) streams on disk" option. The puzzling thing is that using a very large buffer size (-b 524288) continues to work as a workaround in my case, including with v1.9.9r1401. Thanks again for your help, and please let me know if I can provide any further information. thickasabrick's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72476 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114661 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

If you have a CUE file, it probably means you have a flac file with many tracks in which case you won't be able to play the individual tracks. I'm assuming one track per file and *not* all album tracks in a single flac file. Check if embedded Cue file by using Code: metaflac --list test.flac If file contains CUESHEET like follows Code: METADATA block #0 type: 0 (STREAMINFO) is last: false length: 34 minimum blocksize: 4608 samples maximum blocksize: 4608 samples minimum framesize: 0 bytes maximum framesize: 0 bytes sample_rate: 44100 Hz channels: 2 bits-per-sample: 16 total samples: 6990144 MD5 signature: METADATA block #1 type: 5 (CUESHEET) is last: false length: 1584 media catalog number: lead-in: 0 . . . I don't think (but also don't know) that running LMS (streaming library or internet sources) is a heavy lift for pi's with lower memory or speed, it's scanning that really needs the resources. Greg Erskine, part of the picoreplayer team, would be a good person to reach out to for info on a pi model bare bones LMS. You could PM him. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS upgrade help please
Thanks chaps, My system is detailed below. It was configured by someone I've lost touch with. The RPis running Squeezelite have O2 Joggler front ends. One of the RPis was the media server until it became too slow about 8 years ago. It was replaced by an early Odroid to give more power. My music library is USB connected to the Odroid. The Odroid needs a reboot at least once a week & that's the reason I wish to change to something more reliable. It just randomly stops working. My RPis are probably model A with very little memory. About 12 years old. They will be too slow to host LMS. I stream internet radio & the odd podcast plus my local music collection. I use Powerline & wifi connectivity. I'd like the latest version of LMS (more reliable, supports https streams, not obsolete etc) running on supported hardware (not Odroid but probably Pi based). I'm not too techy but can follow instructions. I currently use Putty & have USB Imagetool. Please ask if I've missed anything. muggo wrote: > . > Please can you advise me exactly what to buy? Pi4? Version? Operating > environment? > Many thanks > Paul Hey Paul; You are in good hands with Ronnie. He will answer how you could add LMS to one of your pi's running squeezelite. I can tell you how to do it if you were running picoreplayer (which can run LMS and squeezelite), but if you are just running sl, best for Ronnie to answer Your previous question that was not addressed. You can run LMS on just about anything, but, say a 3B+ or a 4B would be good choices. I have 2 systems of LMS only, one on a 3b+, one on a 4. The problem is you can't buy them new without waiting forever, buying kits with alot of stuff you don't need, or paying a major premium on places like ebay. For example, a pi 3b+ is normally $35USD, They go for about $100 on ebay, and you can buy "ultimate kits" on places like canakit for $140. In normal times, the members here would tell you to use a 4B because the rescans are faster, but in these times, it might be best to find a less desirable pi model (cheaper) to get LMS up and running and wait for the world to come back to normal ( I could add "how much longer? but won't :)). I am not the guy to ask which of the oldies would work. You could also just pay the going rate. If I didn't know I could get a 3b+ for $35, for what it can do, I might consider $100 a great deal. Regarding the operating system, I like picoreplayer, easy to setup, and alot of support here. Others might prefer something else. Has this been fixed? I have spent the past few days being driven crazy by an album that is displaying this behavior. Couldn't understand what was wrong and it all appeared linear enough that it *had* to be a problem with tagging. Only yesterday I completely reset tags, rewrote them from scratch and got once more two entries for the album. And then I noticed these "CUR" files... But I have CUE under "Disabled Playlist File Extensions"... so I still don't understand what's going on. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113999 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS upgrade help please
If your Squeezelite is being run as part of a piCorePlayer (pCP) installation then adding LMS to it is straight-forward from the web interface (make sure the "player/server" or "beta" tab is selected at the bottom of the page ... and then go to the LMS tab). The disk with the music is better to connect via cable (USB or Ethernet if a NAS) but WiFi could be OK for playing but might be slow for scanning. You might need help in getting the disk mounted if a NAS but once done it should work very well - especially if your RPi has 1GB memory or more. Paul Webster author of \"now playing\" plugins covering radio france (fip etc), planetradio (bauer - kiss, absolute, scala, jazzfm etc), kcrw, abc australia and cbc/radio-canada and, via the extra \"radio now playing\" plugin lots more - see https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?115201-announce-radio-now-playing-plugin Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115511 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
