To clarify what he's doing: Quick search, then clicking 'Alben' in the
drop-down menu, which then displays the search results for albums in the
browse pane (note the bread crumbs in the 2nd screen capture). There is
no sort option - it's sorted purely by album name.
For me, it works as expected

I have three devices playing off each zone. One device is playing music
with no problem, and the other two aren't. Here's some of the errors I'm
getting. Anyone have any ideas?
What
I just got back home and also went into the scanner log and found the
following which lists quite a few errors:
These errors are all artwork related. They shouldn't have any impact on
whether you can play a file or not. Unless the errors hint at problems
reading a file in general.

There's the inofficial "restartserver" command available over CLI or
JSON/RPC.
nice to know :)
Did I write "inofficial"?!? Well, it certainly is official. But it
wasn't undocumented until yesterday. I changed that in 7.9.
shutdown
The "shutdown" command shuts down the server. The CLI
I think iTunes was a red herring. It's in the server.log, but the crash
happens in the scanner.

It looks like we need one of the developer guys to shed some light on
these errors.
It won't explain the cause , but it might be interesting to re-rip one
of the CD's to confirm the error is specific to those rips. Still hard
to understand why they read OK in LMS 7.72, without a developer chiming

Ok, I have no experience with RPi and LMS, I only have built KODI

Imho not that much. RPi 1 is able to run a KODI installation smoothly,
which can be used as an UPnP media server.
Back to the OP's question: Why OSMC? Because of the fancy

Thats a tough one
'
Raspbian Jessie Lite'
to be honsest - i would use the rpi1 as a player and get a rpi2 or 3 as
server.
rpi1 has too less ram.

I just created a test album with these images and ran a full scan on the
latest 7.9 on Windows Server. I'm using no iTunes integration or full
text indexing, and get a different sequence of operations from a full
scan, but no problems pre-caching the artwork. No errors or warnings in
the scanner

On Linux OS for sure and I don't want to change my Raspberry-1 :-)
It's still running LMS 7.8.0, but it's time to replace the 16GB SD with
a bigger one, so I was thinking to install OSMC on the new SD and than
to add LMS 7.9 from here 'Beta Downloads Page'
If you opt to show Years with Albums that will be used as a secondary
sort as well. Should work unless two or more volumes were released the
same year.

Hi,
i dont think you have a small cpu...
my very own cpu is a Intel Celeron M CPU 420 1.60GHz its fast enough
for a standalone lms / samba Setup.
why dont you try some debian netinstall -its not tooo hard to go that
route.

I installed the nightly build and cleared and rescanned my library and
the issues are back. Here's what is in the log - any suggestions?:

So I'm asking myself (and you): How can I write a little script that
(re)starts the LMS exactly like the webinterface?
There's the "restartserver" command available over CLI or JSON/RPC.
But before you go down that route, why don't you try to fix the actual
issue? I'm not familiar with

Thanks! But I was more interested in the image files, not the log files ;-).
made me take a closer look at the images in the folder "Don't think
twice" (Waylon Jennings). I deleted them and after a new scan everything
went as expected.
Thanks for the feedback. I still believe that crashing the scanner is

Michael, your reply inspired me to take a closer look at the
