Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] System update broke LMS
What platform are you running your LMS on? We only have binaries for x86_64 for Perl 5.32. My system is x86_64 - since openSUSE is RPM-based, I install the RPM noarch package. Since that normally works fine, I've never tried building LMS from the Unix tarball package. Hmm... could you please add --d_startup to the runtime parameters (/etc/sysconfig/squeezeboxserver or similar). Then post the resulting server.log. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

As of today. 8.0.0 is the release branch 8.0.1 is the stable branch, which receives bugfixes and/or stable features 8.1.0 is the unstable development branch. You should not be using 8.1.0 on a production system. Or you don't mind occasional breakage of the system. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. I suppose I need to download and build the EV module and figure out where to put it so LMS can find it, but I'm not clear on the details about how to do that. The version of EV on the CPAN site is 4.33, but I see that GitHub page for Logitech/slimserver-vendor/tree/public/8.0/CPAN has the file EV-4.03.tar.gz. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8.0.0 running, but does not play files
I have a problem with my music files on my Synology DS218+ NAS, Version: 8.0.0 - 1605892076 @ Fri Nov 20 18:28:44 CET 2020, All my music files are shown completely in disorder, some are shown two times. The only thing I have changed was that I added a ripped CD to my files and rescanned my library. Then I got these problems. Does anybody have a clue what is wrong? Your Touch might have remembered the old IP address of LMS. You should be able to make it look for LMS servers and then see that it shows two ... with the same name ... Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Logitech Media Server 8.0.0 released!
Hello! I have "Version: 8.0.1 - 1606829643 @ Tue Dec 1 14:58:52 CET 2020" running on a piCorePlayer Pi4 installation. Today I tried to add a few (54) songs to LMS. But it took 3 hours and I can not see what is going on because the LMS webpage and the LMS part of the piCorePlayer webpage are not reacting. Then I shut down piCorePlayer normal which worked. I then started a complete scan and again after a few minutes the webpage is not longer reacting. At the beginning I saw that 1 songs are read but then it is not going any further. The songs are on an external SSD which I tested and the filesystem is OK. Is there any known problem that LMS is not reacting when importing? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Media Server 7.9.2 not working on ReadyNAS Ultra
Hello, I installed today the nightly 8.0.1 on the ReadyNAS Ultra 4 upgradedd to OS6, and it works. Like a charm. Even Spotty has no issue with SSL or anything. Just have to fully input Spotify credentials, Token, and app Client ID to have it work. Michael et al., I think you can keep the OS6 and above with the tweaks from 8.0.1. I think we all would be surprised if we made a poll and counted the users of ReadyNAS Those machines are warriors and last forever, so they're either staying at people's homes who bought them new and get converted to a server, or used by people who buy them second-, third- or more-hand cheap, and they run like clocks :) Thanks really for all the great work on LMS, Spotty and all you're doing, and for the time you put into "the ReadyNAS compatibility bug" (sounds like a Jason Bourne film title) Michael, MP me for donation process explanation, as I have not yet given my dime and really'd like to. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Players don't play ! After upgrading 8.0.1 to 8.1.0 ?
Hi all. My setup is a QNAP TS-230 NAS running LMS 8.1.0 with two players, both based on RPi4/PiCorePlayer connected via USB into a standalone DAC, and control points on PCs and various Android phones/tablets all using the Material skin plugin. Yesterday this all worked fine. During the evening I added some more music files to the NAS and replaced some existing files with higher res versions. I didn't stop the LMS while I was doing that, maybe I should have, and while I was working on it someone else tried unsuccessfully to listen to some music on one of the players. Anyway, when I had finished the update I performed a scan for new and updated files and when that had finished I tried the system out. Alas, it no longer functioned properly. The control points can see the players and the LMS and can manipulate the playlists on the players as normal. The players, however, cannot play the files in the playlist. When is selected nothing happens; the progress bar does not advance, suggesting that the playback does not even start. I have restarted the Squeezelite instances and the RPis but this has had no effect. I have also restarted the LMS, of course, and performed a complete rescan, all to no avail. System details are as follows: Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.0 - 1606896523 @ Wed Dec 2 09:24:10 CET 2020 Operating system: QLMS 2.X (QNAP TurboStation) [Debian 9 stretch] - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: aarch64-linux Perl Version: 5.28.2 - aarch64-linux-thread-multi Audio::Scan: 1.02 IO::Socket::SSL: 2.060 Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.58 (sqlite 3.22.0) Total Players Recognized: 1 piCorePlayer 2 Player Model: SqueezeLite Player Type: squeezelite Firmware: v1.9.6-1206-pCP Player IP Address: 192.168.1.xx Player MAC Address: dc:a6:32... Thanks again for the quick responses and guidance! re: garym wrote: > no, but you don't need to do that anyhow. I assume the music files are > on a USB drive you connect to the rPi4 Actually I set up LMS so everything runs from a single microSD including the library; wouldn't recommend it for a library that changes often and I always have at least three library backups, including one on a local USB SSD connected to my daily use PC and an archive in the cloud. Right now I have three LMS online, one running 7.92, one running 7.94 with library on USB SSD, and the new one running 8.0.1. Picked up a Samsung EVO Select 256GB microSDXC for $25 on Black Friday for the new server :) I'm getting a case for the rPi 4 running 8.0.1 this weekend and will physically replace the 7.92 LMS direct attached to my firewall/gateway. I'll pull out the microSD from the 7.92 and keep that as an archive for now and turn the rPi 3 into a piCorePlayer, replacing an rPi4 currently running Squeezelite Haven't patched the Radios yet, that's on my to do for this evening and then I can cut over completely to the 8.0.1 LMS. So far it seems to be running great - one small glitch in that I changed to a static IP after I installed LMS and the plug-ins - the Spotty plug-in v4.4.4 kept a reference to the previous dynamic IP. Just needed to unclick/remove the plug in and then add it back in and all is well. When I get the library tagged properly will build a PiCorePlayer LMS server and check it out. It's time to say goodbye to the ReadyNAS support. It's been broken du… …e to the Perl 5.8 incompatibility for a while. Time to move on. In practice. Would that mean that I wont be able to use my NAS anymore? I'll have to be more clear in the changelog: what that says is that we no longer provide packages for the old ReadyNAS Duo/NV/Pro devices from about 10 years ago.
