Thank you for your posts. I have been using LMS for many years and
problems usually occur when upgrading my MacBook. For example: LMS 7
stopped working in Big Sur, but luckily LMS 8 appeared. The described
problem appeared when I bought a new Mac (Air, M1 processor, Big Sur).

FWIW: I granted "guest" on the NAS read-only access to the default
"music" share and don't use any credentials on the pcp side. The share
name on pcp would be "/volume1/music".

I noticed that a MAC at home had appeared in LMS as an AirPlay speaker.
Tried playing to it via LMS AirPlay Bridge and no sound comes out of the
MAC.
I do see a pop-up on the MAC asking for permission for an AirPlay source
to send it stuff - which I accepted.
My guess is that it requires it to
Got it: MacBook analog out to powered speakers. I'd probably use LMS
"Local Player" plugin for that.

So the prospect to upgrade to QTS 5 and QLMS 2.21, QTS 5 and QLMS 2.25
or to QLMS 2.25 and QTS 4.x is not a good idea, then? Better not moving
in the boat and stick with 2.21 and 4.x?

Just some active speakers. Its not my main system, so not majorly
concerned, but I thought it my work given its now regarded as an
airplay receiver.
In the new configuration, is the MacBook physically connected to a DAC
or an amplifier?

I typically stream via airplay currently using LMS to my airport
express. Works fine. MacOS Monterey introduced the MacBook to be an
airstream receiver. The same MacBook is my LMS.
Using the iPad to use the web player it sees the MacBook as the receiver
but the song doesnt start to play and
Hi sota, thanks for the link - I do have my folder permissions
configured as shown in the PDF that you linked to. I'm using the IP
address for my NAS in the NFS rule shown there. I also added one with
the /24 at the end per the PDF suggestion, but no change.
Not sure about the user portion

See here for when "reliable" was being integrated into LMS 8.2 as a core
feature rather than a plugin.

Thank you Jim and Philippe for the plugin, with the network streaming
option set to « persistent » i have no longer had breaks when playing
podcasts. Thats great
However just out of curiosity i didnt find any thread post about the «
reliable » plugin that could have put me on the right way.
Strangely enough QLMS will do nothing with the SSOTS/SSODS directories.
The same with the SlimServer/ directory.
But is previous settings are lost, you could check if a backup is made.
In ssh shell do "ls $(/bin/acho /share/*/Public)"
Now look at the files QLMS_BCKUP_?.?.tgz.
If they are files
Yes that is the trouble, the busybox version is very old.
Curios what QTS version is on youre QNap?
The thing is busybox is part of QTS, but now we found the trouble know a
way to work around it.
As you see sending me the QLogitechMediaServer.log.err is important.
The same for
I checked the folder permissions, from Synology it shows all read/write
access is enabled for the user that created the folder, and all admin
access as well. Does the folder itself need some specific set of
permissions that LMS is expecting? If so might anyone know what those
are?

Thanks for sending the reqeust QLogitechMediaServer.log.err.
Now i can see where the error lays.
Could you do the following comaands between "" and give me the output
"which mktemp"
"/bin/echo $(/bin/mktemp -q)"
"/bin/mktemp -h"
And i`m curious which model QNap are you using.

I don't check the last two boxes, and I make it read only. Then double

Please see the screenshots below. Is it because of username/password are
