Thanks for the effort and suggestion. I'll give it
I was (and still am) a Slim Devices Transporter user since 2006 (now in
my office for streaming Qobuz and local file playback) and currently run
a lightweight, fanless PC running squeezelite as my LMS endpoint into my
DAC over USB in my main system.

Just checking - is there a newer version of QLMS than 2.25.00?
If it's there, my AppCenter on the QTS doesn't show the available
update, could this have something to do with my NAS's processor
architecture - armv7l?

Another RPi supporter here ... sorry ... but some ideas might help as
well.
I've setup a RPi Zero 2W as an LMS for travel over Christmas.
I also prepared a very old Apple Airport Express and configured it as a
wired access point. It has the same WiFi SSID and passphrase as the home
setup so it
Problem solved. When I noticed that LMS would detect my SqueezePlay or
SqueezePad as clients, and it's only the Chromecasts that were not
found, I dove into the Chromecast Bridge settings. And yes, that one did
have a "Network binding and port" setting that allowed me to force my

Well, an easy solution is to make a portable server with an SSD and a
Raspberry Pi. I put one together in a case salvaged from an old media
player, with a 2Tb SSD drive and a Raspberry Pi3. Presumably you could
set it up to access wifi at your destination or as an access point.

Hi again,
I'm not 100% sure, but after monitoring for a while, it seems fairly
common that the artwork and metadata go away when you turn Boom or Radio
on or off.

Interesting question, because LMS is effectively portable by design.
Never installed it on Windows myself though so I'm not sure how they
organized things to start LMS using an exe rather than a shell (cmd/bat)
command.
My guess is that it is the exe that makes it a static install, so that

I had recently some connection problems and always had to wait a bit til
iPeng found LMS and Magna Mano Player (piCore). Since yesterday LMS
cannot find the player at all. I am not really understanding the log

My LMS runs on a Windows machine that serves multiple purposes. Over the
weekend, I played around with Home Assistant and had it installed on
that server in a VM using VirtualBox. Since then, LMS is not finding any
of my players anymore.
I noticed that VirtualBox creates a virtual network
Going to take my music library on holiday on an external drive. I would
like to try a postable install and happily only start LMS from the drive
when it's plugged in obviously, but the standard MSI download doesn't
even offer the option of selecting the install location.
Is there any existing
