Assuming that the "mkdir" failed because the directory already existed ... then ... that should have worked. However, LMS might be showing the version number from a previous installation because it did not manage the install that you made (I do not remember if it opens up the plugin install.xml to find it when you list the plugins). But ... the version that you wanted to install is the one that I am running here and I did not install it by hand. I simply added Philippe's dev repository link to my LMS plugins page (at the bottom) and then LMS offered me that version instead of the released version. That is the usual way to do it. It is possible to run LMS and players without access to Internet. Some things might take longer on startup but should work. ALso - you can configure LMS to not use mysqueezebox.com at all - but that should not be necessary (and reduces flexibility if you do have internet available). Can you access LMS web interface from a PC on your network via port 9000? Is all of your network on 192.168.2.xxx ? My first suspicion would be Docker on the NAS not seeing the broadcast from the player. You could put it in host mode (if applicable on the NAS) or tell Squeezelite the explicit IP address to use to reach LMS. That shows it is really seeing the files. Was that a "clear and rescan" or "find changed"? If "find changed" then try a "clear". When logged in to the system where LMS is running ... can you list the folders/files beneath the mount point? Those sub-folders/files need to have the correct permissions as well. LMS and the BBC Sounds plugin don't know about the VPN. It is BBC that is seeing traffic from the VPN provider and blocking. Are your TV and phone (via WiFi) definitely using the same VPN connection? I think this happens during lots of big sporting events. It is not that the streams have been nabbed - but more that BBC does not have the rights to stream content that might include clips from the sporting event to an international audience ... and perhaps they think you are outside UK or they have a configuration problem. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/help/questions/listening-outside-the-uk/outside-uk Next time it happens, try to listen to the same station via BBC Sounds app (the one from BBC) on your phone and and via BBC web site from a computer on the same LAN as your LMS. LMS uses Log4Perl ... so perhaps that has somehow been configured to send to syslog. It look like starting LMS with -logfile syslog will make it send data there instead of its own logs. Are you seeing the same log entries in syslog AND scanner.log/server.log ? The all zero MAC would cause problems if it happened with a 2nd player in your local setup. Also, I suspect (not checked) that mysqueezebox filters them out otherwise it would cause problems with players from multiple people with same MAC - and the (claimed) MAC is fundamental to how things work. Now tried with Material. As expected, it lists the updated plugins but does not provide a way to select individual ones to update. No problem with that as I expect that most people will want to update everything - and those that want to be selective can launch the Default skin. You can view the update changes (by clicking on the plugin that is being offered to update) but there is no option to deselect. I have no issue with that - Material makes things simple. This might be something new happening in 8.3 compared to 8.2 When there are multiple plugins listed as having updates available and I choose just 1 of them ... LMS downloads and installs all of the available plugin updates not just the selected one. I have automatic download disabled. I would prefer to have only the plugins that I select be downloaded/updated so that I can hold back an update if I want to. I don't think a router/switch knows that an application is listening on a particular subnet or even port. I think it is the intermediate routers/switches that need looking at to see if they forward the UDP broadcasts. You could try try forwarding port 3483 to LMS machine. If it continues like that then it implies to me it that it is in a loop. Rebooting might cure it (assuming it used to work). It creates a log file called server.log - however, you might have to dig around to find it. Here it is at /usr/local/slimserver/Logs/server.log Stopping LMS and removing its database might resolve things for the next restart. Try pulling the Ethernet cable (or disabling WiFi) after everything is up and running. If the music continues (after buffer empties) then it shows that external network connection is not needed. If it stops ... then it doesn't really prove much because there could be all sorts of things that make it fail with no network. It does go through the network stack on the computer. however, if you tell Squeezelite to attach to LMS via 127.0.0.1 (localhost) then it will not leave the computer. I suspect it does not leave the machine if you are using the 192 (or whatever) address of the machine but not 100% sure. Is your wired Pi connecting to the LMS that you think it should be connecting to? Do you see it listed in your LMS web interface and can you send things to it from there? LMS server.log (which you can see from LMS Default web interface - Settings/Information then go to the bottom or from pCP diagnostics page) should help ... if your player is connecting to it. Hi. I am running lms 8.3 on a fedora virtual machine. fedora 36 comes with perl 5.34 and LMS runs just fine. I've just tried fedora 37 beta, but that comes with perl5.36, and LMS won't run, as it has no 5.36 in /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN/arch/ Leaving the lms VM on fedora 36 is not an immediate problem for me (I just copied back the old vm disc image file), but Do you have plans to add perl 5.36 support to lms 8.3 any time soon? If 'yes, in due course', I can wait. I've not looked into doing that myself yet - is it easy? Try LMS 8.2.1 and if that does not improve things - try the beta 8.3 If the problem still happens then at least the developers will know that they can look at current code rather than old. I do not have any experience of running things on QNAP - but as a general rule ... for scanning issues check the LMS scanner.log plus, in all cases of something odd happening, check the LMS server.log.
