[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] TO: mherger. Radio streams display the wrong logo
Hello Michael, First off thanks a million for your continuing work on LMS, Qobuz, etc. Running LMS 8.2 july 07/2021. Server: Macmini (mid 2010): High Sierra. "Squeezebox": Squeezelite Radio stations are "confused" about logo. Example: -- Running "Radio Swiss Jazz" I have the correct logo. -- Switching to the French "France Inter", I still get the "Radio Swiss Jazz" logo. Not all stations are affected, but once a pair of stations is messed up, it remains that way. This problem appeared with ealier versions of LMS. It's visible on the Web interface, and with Jivelite. It seems to me that some cache needs to be flushed, but which, and where? Any solution rlsx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12092 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114863 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I cannot reproduce the error now. I replaced "Louÿs" by "Louys", and the scanning went through. When I restored the previous orthography, the scanner error didn't occur. Thanks! --- Ramez --- PS: Why doesn't the scanner just go on, after such a minor error? And, say, replace the "malformed" character with "?" [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Scanner bug - LMS: 7.9.1 - 1519287262 @ Thu Feb 22
Hello Michael, A bug keeps reappearing on the macOS scanner: it chokes on a track with the following TITLE "La flûte de Pan (Pierre Louÿs)". It dislikes the umlaut over the letter "y". We discussed that bug earlier. It had disappeared on March 7, only to reappear now. Thanks a million for your work. Ramez PS: How about a warning on the main page of the Web interface that the last scheduled rescan has failed? Better: could Jivelite, conceivably, convey this info? rlsx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12092 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108786 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

After the "sudo installer ..." command, the Control Panel is indeed fired up. At this point the *Start Server* button -doesn't work at all-. You have to close "System Preferences", and then start the server either command-line or by reopening the Control Panel. This time, it works. Go figure ... :) rlsx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12092 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108729 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I tried with the latest server version (which was already installed, btw). I seemed to work, but the server wouldn't re-start. Either command-line or GUI. I had to restart the computer, which solved the problem. Perhaps I should have stopped the server, before the "sudo installer ..." ? rlsx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12092 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108729 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New build system
Once again, thanks a lot Michael for the tremendous work you are doing for the community of users. A question concerning OS X, rather than the Linux flavors you are worried about. I have LMS server running on a headless Mac Mini. The only way I have to update LMS is to VNC into the server and click on various buttons and enter admin password etc. Can this process be simplified, say via a command line instruction that could simply be entered by ssh? Preferably with no further user interaction (entering admin password). Can we take this further like, say, Dropbox which has carried this to a extreme: doing updates automatically without any user intervention? Withous going so far, perhaps with just an "OK" from the Web interface ? rlsx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12092 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108729 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Renaming the file(s) doesn't solve the problem. Only removing the "umlaut" from "ÿ". There are two (sync'ed) copies of the files: One on a MacMini with a local LMS and another on a Windows 10 machine, again with a local LMS. > > > > One question: Bypassing the Web interface, where does the scanner > reside > > in macOS, and what are its command line params? > > $ > /Library/PreferencePanes/Squeezebox.prefPane/Contents/server/scanner.pl > Usage: > /Library/PreferencePanes/Squeezebox.prefPane/Contents/server/scanner.pl > [debug options] [--rescan] [--wipe] > > Command line options: > [...] > --debugvarious debug options > [...] > Are the "various debug option" documented somewhere? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Please help with scanner on macOS
mherger wrote: > Go to Settings/Advanced/Logging and set the scanner options to debug. > > -- > > Michael Thanks Michael. That helped find the problem file(s). - It turns out that the field the scanner choked on contained the name "Louÿs" (that's an "umlaut" or "diaeresis" over the "y"). - *The scanner on the Windows machine completed the scan, while the macOS scanner failed.* Both are: "Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1488878280 @ Tue Mar 7". - I have the feeling (but cannot prove) that an earlier version of the scanner in macOS completed the scan without problems. So this may be a regression ... One question: Bypassing the Web interface, where does the scanner reside in macOS, and what are its command line params? I just moved from a Windows based server to a macOS server, and I am having problems with the scanner failing more often. Last problem: The scanner fails on a "malformed UTF-8 character".
