Confirmed with my app of choice Squeeze Ctrl on my LG V30 phone #happiness. Thanks again for your help. I won't bother Erlang or Michael over this as there is an easy workaround already implemented. "All Albums" is there at the bottom of each Genre list on both Orange Squueze and the Duet controller. Can't speak for any other Android apps. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Erlang's Custom Browse now defunct in
w3wilkes!! You rock! That will definitely do when using the WebUI. I just have to click on the Z item in the A..Z breakdown at the top of a multi-page artist list, and click on All Albums. I've never seen that before (because I've always used Custom Browse) so didn't know about it. It's silly I know, but this makes me happy. Much easier than the Advanced Search. May no work with the Android apps, but I'll check tonight. Thank you. I'm running LMS on a QNAP NAS. Sorry, but that's pretty much all I can contribute here. Maybe it's digimaster's installer that prevents me from experiencing the same problems. This may or may not be of use. When you go into the library by Genre using the webUI the last option in the list of Artists is "All Albums" which then lists all albums in that Genre by the sort method specified from the selection button at the bottom left of the WebUI window. What's your server platform? I'm using a Raspberry Pi running pure Raspbian. And I thought I was using the latest nightly. Let me confirm. It is true that for my current 7.9.1.x build Custom Browse fails to load. There are a few posts on the Erlang thread where this is discussed. The solution for one poster was to downgrade to 7.9.0.x. When I was using max2play as my platform that worked for me. But I cannot downgrade on this pure Raspbian. This said, I'm still curious about my question ... how hard is it to modify the Genre query to order by Album rather than Artist. Thanks for your reply! I have no problems with Custom Browse in the latest LMS build (7.9.1 - 1522249619 @ Wed Mar 28 17:19:22 CEST 2018). latest LMS nightly builds. It's Genre-Album is my primary way of finding music in my 3300+ album music collection. The normal Genre option sorts by Artist. With a bazillion artists it's not practical to find anything browsing into Genre. Pondering options, I found out how to use Advanced Search to display the album's in a genre. I have to do a separate search for each genre, so it's cumbersome though it does work. But that lead me to think about the current Genre view. It shows a list of the genre's and then in each are shown all artists in that genre, sorted. This list has to be created by a database query. I know SQL would use "order by " to do this. How hard would it be to modify the query to "order by "? Seems like it should be rather easy ... literally change a single query term. But WHERE is this query in the LMS code? And what is the syntax of the DB code or keywords to do this? Thoughts? Is there another option that does not require putting 3300+ little files in every folder of my music library?
