I have a lot of compilations and listen to a lot of older music and it's not unusual for a disc to have 2 or 3 genres...If it's a career spanning collection and starts in the 50s and ends in the 70s, I wouldn't just tag that as "OLDIES" or whatever, I'd have a tag for the 50s, for the 60s, and then the 70s, so I can't really use the genre tags to view entire albums since again I routinely split a disc into several genres. I don't understand why you wouldn't just browse by genre if that's how you've organized your library. You get the same hierarchy of genre > artist > album. Plus you get the benefit of seeing artists in multiple genres and (IIRC) you also get genre filtering, so you'd only see albums or tracks by each artist which match the genre you're browsing. No, I actually use the genre tags for that but keep all the original albums together. Hi, i dont think thats possible. btw: if some album has a single instrumental track - the rest is pop or something else - do you move that track into another folder? BMF or Browse Mediafiles is just a benefit not the real deal. I am looking to see a display BY FOLDER of albums in a grid featuring cover art in the style of the main "Albums" menu option. I do have my music sorted by folder, then artist, then album. Sounds like you haven't organized individual albums into folders, but I've no idea what you mean by either "categories" that you have in folders, nor what you mean by wanting to see "certain types" in a view.
